Looking After The Environment With Rollerdor

Throughout our entire operations, the Rollerdor team is committed to ensuring we work in the most sustainable way possible. 

There are a number of practices to help us do this.

Replaced Foam Packaging

Most garage door suppliers and manufacturers will use foam packaging in boxes that contain the products. However, at Rollerdor we made the transition a few years ago to, wherever possible, use bubble wrap and paper instead. 

This is because these materials are easier to recycle than foam, and this means our customers have the opportunity to recycle packaging once a delivery has been completed. 

Sometimes, depending on the product, foam is unavoidable when it comes to packaging. In these instances where foam is necessary, we ensure to only use a minimal amount.

Going Paperless

One of our biggest developments in recent years is the transition to going paperless. Our customers will still receive easy-to-understand instructions and product guides, but instead of it coming in paper form we’ll send the resources via email or use a QR code. 

We’ve also introduced a new digital logistics system that has removed the requirement for paper delivery notes.

Separating Waste

Across our operations, we use a whole host of materials, including:

• Steel
• Aluminium 
• Wood
• Cardboard
• Plastic

To make sure we properly handle waste products from these materials, we have specific skips for each material which allows us to be more efficient when it comes to recycling our waste.

Electric Vehicles

While electric vehicles remain all the rage and continue to grow in popularity, at Rollerdor we’ve used electric vehicles for many years. 

As more and more electric vehicle options become available, we intend to explore options to electrify our fleet further.

Recycling Old Garage Doors

Recycling garage doors is another key aspect of our operations. When we visit you to install your new garage door, we can take your existing one away and recycle it in the most appropriate and responsible way. 

If you prefer, you can recycle it yourself or DIY it into something new, but we’ll always be on hand to deal with your old door in the best possible way.
