Top Five Celebrity Garages
For many people, a garage is so much more than just a space to store tools, outdoor equipment and miscellaneous objects. A lot of people use them as a place to store their pride and joy – their car.
Garages can be a great place for petrolheads to work on, admire and keep their car, or cars, safe. If a garage is big enough, it can even act as a showroom of sorts where people can keep their vehicle looking its best.
Looking for inspiration on how to transform your garage? Or simply want to see how others have utilised the space? Either way, we’ve put together a list of the top five celebrity garages.
- John Travolta – 15 cars
The Grease and Pulp Fiction star doesn’t have the biggest car collection in Hollywood, but John Travolta does boast two planes including a private jet and jumbo jetliner. As well as being one of the world’s most famous actors, Travolta is also a professional pilot who has his own runway on his Florida property, and has piloted a number of high-profile flights including providing aid to Haiti after the 2010 earthquake.
Travolta is also a passionate vintage car collector and among the 15 cars he owns there are a Rolls-Royce Phantom, a Jaguar XJ6 and three 1950s Thunderbirds.
- Ralph Lauren – 60 cars
The fashion designer Ralph Lauren is a well-known collector of a whole host of cars both vintage and modern. In fact, the garage turned two-storey museum is named D.A.D Garage – an acronym including the initials of his three children.
Among his collection, you’ll find three 1996 McLaren F1s, a Bugatti Veyron, a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO and much more.
- Floyd Mayweather – 100 cars
When he’s not spending his time fighting YouTubers, former boxing world champion Floyd Mayweather can be found tending to his car collection. Mayweather has made no secret of his extensive wealth that he’s made from a boxing career that saw him win every one of his 50 professional bouts.
Much of this money has gone on cars and it is reported that he owns over 100 different cars. This includes 16 Rolls-Royces, three Bugattis, two Ferraris and a McLaren.
- Jerry Seinfeld – 150 cars
The comedian and actor Jerry Seinfeld is a well-known car enthusiast and has his own hangar in California where he stores his collection. A particular fan of Porsches, he owns 46 of the German manufacturer’s best models, including a 1955 Porsche 550 Spyder – the same car that the legendary actor James Dean died in.
Seinfeld also owns the first and last air-cooled Porsche 911.
- Jay Leno – 286 cars
Chat show king Jay Leno is perhaps the most famous celebrity when it comes to owning a personal garage. Leno spends much of his free time working on cars in his garage and even has his own TV show, Jay Leno’s Garage, where he shares his collection with viewers.
As well as cars, he owns more than 100 motorbikes and even has two steam cars that date back to the 1920s. Many of his vintage cars from the 1930s, 40s and 50s have been used as templates by video game companies who want to recreate the vehicles as accurately as possible in their games.
Whether you have an envious car collection to rival the stars or a modest garage to store your runaround, roller garage doors are the ideal choice. Due to the way they operate, with a box on the ceiling that the doors can retract into, these types of doors are excellent at maximising space, meaning you can park your vehicle as close to the doors as you like without it becoming an obstruction.
