Step forward our range of compact garage doors.
Perfect for properties with smaller openings, our RD55 compact roller garage doors feature all of the same benefits as our alternative door, the RD77, including security, the ability to maximise space, and great aesthetics, but come in a smaller and more compact size for those properties that require it.
In this article, we’ll further explore our compact door range and explain the range of benefits they can bring to a property.
What Is A Compact Garage Door?
A compact roller garage door is made of the same components as our standard roller garage door, but everything is reduced to make it more compact. The use of a 55mm slat instead of the standard 77mm reduces the roll size of the curtain when opened, meaning it can have a 205mm square top box and 65mm wide guide runners. Compact garage doors lend themselves to people with limited space inside their garages who are trying to maintain as large an opening as possible and who want to maximise space.
A compact garage door is, essentially, a smaller garage door type that is suitable for properties which may not have as much space at the front of their home or in their garage or for those who want to maximise their current space.
The compact roller garage doors that Rollerdor can provide operate in the same way as the other doors we manufacture, and have the same optional extras. The doors are electrically operated and when opening the curtain retracts vertically up into the neat top box. This box can be installed behind or below the lintel, with any variation between these two to maximise the height available. This leaves access to the roof space in your garage and the ability for you to park as close to the door as you like.
The compact roller garage doors manufactured by Rollerdor have a maximum drive-through width of 2310mm, plus the guide runners, and a maximum guide height of 2285mm plus the top box.
When Should You Choose A Compact Roller Door?
If you’re considering a compact garage door, they’re most suitable for properties that have small door openings or for those looking to save money as they are the most cost-effective model manufactured by Rollerdor. In these instances, a compact garage door might be the best choice. As well as the functional benefits that they bring, they can also be more aesthetically pleasing due to the fact that they’re more appropriately sized for the type of property you own.
