Recently, a customer got back to us via Facebook to tell us about his novel use for his new door – and it’s one of the most impressive and unique customisations we’ve ever seen!

So many people talk about using there garage as a home movie theatre, but how many of us actually go through with the idea?

With their new garage door expertly installed by the Rollerdor team, this customer got right to work on making their home theatre dream a reality; they created their very own projector screen on the roller door curtain, and – as you can see – they put it to great use! Now it’s fully prepared for games, films, exercise routines and more – all from the comfort of the garage.

Other creative projects

As far as customisations go, a projector screen is definitely up there at the top of our list – but what else could you do with one of our roller doors? We came up with a few ideas:

A blank canvas – While Rollerdor has a wide range of colours to choose from, if you’re feeling artistic you can always design your own artwork. How about a mural filled with graphics? Or you could get meta and create an optical illusion to impress – and baffle – visitors.

Whiteboard – You don’t have to worry about bolting a whiteboard onto the door itself – that’s going to require a lot of thought regarding weight capacity and springs – but you can still have a large whiteboard right in your garage simply by using a sheet of vinyl and some dry erase pens! Get all of your ideas, sketches, notes and more all together, right in your garage – this will come in really handy if you’re working on any woodworking or crafting projects in your garage, and need somewhere to jot everything down.

Green screen – Fancy yourself a video producer? Take a cue from our customer’s example and install your own screen on your garage door. A green screen will let you shoot scenes in your garage which can then be edited later on. Bring stunning cityscapes, busy motorways or relaxing seasides into your garage by the power of DIY!
