Rollerdor’s Work with Circus Starr in the Community
Here at Rollerdor, we’re proud to support domestic and commercial customers across the country. And while people throughout the UK can make use of our quality products and services, we’re also committed to supporting the local community surrounding our headquarters in Norwich.
Our team is always looking for ways to make a difference, and that’s why we’ve started off the new year by supporting the excellent work of Circus Starr. This fantastic charity is embarking on its first tour of 2024 this January, and we’ve donated 10 tickets to the show that will take place here in Norwich on 13th January.
To find out more about the great work this charity engages in as well as why we’ve chosen to support them, take a look at the article below.
Who Is Circus Starr?
Created in 1987, for nearly 4 decades Circus Starr has made it its mission to bring the joys of the circus to children and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds or who are disabled or have complex needs.
The charity understands that the circus can be a magical place, especially for children. However, the conventional circus environment can be challenging or even unwelcoming to some. With 50% of disabled children feeling isolated, stigmatised or discriminated against in this setting, in addition to the cost of living crisis and other financial issues meaning 1.5 million families are unable to pay for this kind of day out, Circus Starr ensures these children do not miss out.
With two national tours taking place each year, Circus Starr brings all of the fun and enjoyment of the circus to disabled and disadvantaged children everywhere. An animal-free event, it features all of the circus acts you’d expect to see including dancers, clowns and acrobats, all overseen by the Circus Starr ringmaster.
The 2024 Winter Tour begins in January, and will see Circus Starr head to a wide range of locations across the UK including:
- 10th January 2024 – Cambridge
- 11th January 2024 – Peterborough
